Dean - IH Career College
Position Overview:
The Dean of IH Career College is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the academic programs, operations, and strategic direction of the college.
Reporting directly to the President, the Dean plays a pivotal role in shaping the college's vision, ensuring academic excellence, fostering industry partnerships, and promoting student success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Academic Leadership:
- Provide strategic vision and leadership for academic programs offered by IH Career College.
- Develop and implement academic policies, standards, and procedures to ensure program quality and accreditation compliance.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and academic excellence.
- Program Development and Review:
- Lead the development, review, and enhancement of careerfocused programs in collaboration with faculty, industry experts, and advisory committees.
- Monitor industry trends and labour market demands to ensure programs remain relevant and aligned with industry needs.
- Conduct regular program evaluations to assess program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Faculty and Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff members to ensure a highquality teaching and learning environment.
- Foster a culture of professional development and support faculty in their teaching, research, and industry engagement activities.
- Foster collaboration and teamwork among faculty and staff to achieve college goals and objectives.
- Industry Partnerships and Employer Relations:
- Establish and maintain strong partnerships with industry organizations, employers, and professional associations to enhance student's career opportunities.
- Collaborate with industry partners to develop workintegrated learning opportunities, internships, and job placement initiatives.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and employer needs to guide curriculum development and career services.
- Student Support and Success:
- Ensure a studentcentred environment that supports the academic and personal development of students.
- Oversee student services, including admissions, academic advising, career counselling, and student support programs.
- Implement strategies to enhance student retention, progression, and successful outcomes.
- Budget and Resource Management:
- Develop and manage the college's annual budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to support academic programs and operational needs.
- Seek external funding opportunities, grants, and partnerships to enhance program offerings and student support services.
- Monitor and report on financial performance and key performance indicators to the President and relevant stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A doctoral degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
- Significant experience in higher education administration, preferably in a leadership role.
- Possess a solid network in the BC postsecondary education sector.
- Strong knowledge of careerfocused education, industry trends, and labour market demands.
- Demonstrated experience in program development, curriculum design, and academic quality assurance.
- Proven leadership and management skills, including experience in faculty and staff supervision.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationshipbuilding abilities.
- Strong understanding of accreditation requirements and regulatory compliance, including DQAB.
- Experience in building industry partnerships and employer relations is highly desirable.

Salary:
$55,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
