Description

For our government client/ NRCan, we are looking a junior Computer Support Specialist to start immediately.

The nature of the tasks are primarily related to validating the configurations and data quality produced from stations of Earhquake Early Warly System along with documenting the results of test and validation.

Requirements:

Tasks

Based on discussions with Project Authority or delegate, review work requirements and develop work packages for each station to be assessed.
Connect to remote seismic stations and check/correct/debug station instrument and equipment configurations.
Verify that each station is sending data as expected to NRCan computer systems by coordinating with NRCan field technicians or field contractors.
Run validation scripts within NRCan infrastructure on acquired data.

Collect, interpret, and document results.

Correct firstlevel observed anomalies.
Work with NRCan staff, contractors, and external stakeholders to review and understand test results and pass on results for corrective action.
Enter results of testing and/or noted problems in ticket system for tracking.
Review and update work procedures and checklists.
Track status of work and be prepared to report on weekly or biweekly basis to Project Authority or delegate. Arrange meetings as required.

$25.00-$33.00 per hour
