THE OPPORTUNITY
Triton Environmental Consultants Ltd.
("Triton") is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Soil Scientist to join a well-established team of environmental professionals in our Guelph office.
Leading pre-development, phased environmental site assessment, and reclamation field programsProviding technical and regulatory expertise regarding contaminated sites work
Contributing specialist expertise to multi-disciplinary projects
Writing high-quality reports, cost estimates, and proposals
Providing technical leadership within a team environment
Liaising and negotiating with other partners, clients, regulators, contractors, and sub-contractors
Supporting technical teams to ensure the quality, cost, and timeliness of deliverables
Ensuring clients' and Triton's safety standards are maintained or exceeded
Working collaboratively within Triton's corporate culture
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Undergraduate degree (B.Sc.) in soil science, environmental science, earth sciences, or related field.
Registration or eligibility for designation with a professional association is an asset.
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the environmental industry.
Knowledge and experience with soil classification and mapping using the Canadian System of Soil Classification
Experience with Phase 1 and 2 Environmental Site Assessments, Assessment of Past Uses, Groundwater Monitoring Programs, Remediation, Reclamation Detailed Site Assessments, and/or Reclamation Certificate Applications
Experience with Provincial regulatory guidelines (Excess soils regulations etc.).
Experience with erosion and sediment control planning or soil loss modelling would be assets.
Excellent verbal communications skills.
Detail-oriented with solid organizational and time management skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and collaborative working style.
Valid driver's license from a Canadian province or Territory acceptable for driving alone and with passengers in a work setting.
