Maintenance Attendant (Peel Region)

Position Summary:


Reporting to the Property Manager, this position is responsible to perform a variety of repairs and services to buildings, grounds and equipment, on a day to day basis, and in a safe and secure manner.


Starting Salary:
$47,227

What will you be doing?

  • Complete tenant maintenance request items, as required.
  • Serve various notices and correspondence.
  • Conduct site inspections, identify deficiencies, and implement corrective action.
  • Schedule, assign, and conduct preventative and ongoing maintenance.
  • Complete maintenance in vacant units; make ready for new residents.
  • Garbage compactor rooms to be checked and assist the Building Manager in changing bins and cleaning compactor room as required.
  • Remove litter and empty garbage receptacles from the common, office, parking garage and playground areas outside the building daily.
  • Make preliminary diagnosis and refer major electrical, heating, cooling, water system, life safety systems and elevator faults to the Building Manager.
  • Will assist with the snow clearing/salting program as necessary.
  • Determine maintenance supplies and equipment needs for the operations of the building and grounds.
  • Assist with conducting monthly fire alarm testing.
  • Arrange and schedule work according to priorities determined by the Manager.
  • Perform other related duties as described in the position's Job Summary.

What will you need?

  • Reliable; has a positive, customerservice oriented attitude
  • Excellent English language communication skills written, spoken, and listening
  • Enjoys fixing and maintaining building components in a proficient manner
  • Experienced with maintenance of highrise buildings and residential properties
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certified by a recognized authority to administer Emergency First Aid and CPR. Training will be provided by the employer at the employer's expense.
  • Possesses of a valid and unrestricted Class G Ontario Driver's License for the class of vehicle operated.

Special Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Be bondable and prepared to execute the Bondability Affidavit
  • This position is open only to those legally entitled to work for any employer in Canada.
  • The position is based in Brampton, Ontario.
  • Required to wear personal protective equipment regularly.
  • Hours of employment are 8:00 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday + rotating oncall responsibilities.
  • Company cell phone and access to a company vehicle will be provided.
  • Frequent exposure to the elements.
