    Job Description

    As our new Senior Environmental Engineer & Team Lead in Kamloops, you will manage a group of experienced and motivated contaminated sites professionals and assist us in growing and diversifying our business in Western Canada - focusing on the southern BC Interior region.

    What you'll be doing

    You will be a leader in business development, including major proposal preparation for clients across multiple business sectors, providing public presentations and facilitating meetings, and mentoring and growing a team of professionals to achieve and exceed their career goals.


    Ideally, you will also have significant contaminated sites assessment and remediation program experience including program planning, implementation, and completion along with regulatory stakeholder consultation.

    A collaborative working style, client-centric advisory mindset, and superb technical and regulatory skills will also be critical to your success.

    Key Responsibilities
    Operations Management

    Oversee financial performance, strategic hire recruitment and retention, coaching, and health and safety leadership

    Collaborate with colleagues across the firm including senior managers, technical discipline and business sector leaders, and other operations managers in a one-team approach

    Business Development

    Lead and support business development and proposal initiatives in Western Canada and elsewhere to achieve business development and strategic goals

    Develop new business through preparation of proposals for new work, and external business development through trade shows, business community engagement, and client relationship building

    Technical Leadership

    Prepare and review technical correspondence, reports, work plans, and project specifications

    Manage overall project/program budgets and schedules, client satisfaction/expectations and contract requirements

    Contribute industry expertise in relation to provincial and territorial codes and regulations

    Mentor junior and intermediate staff, providing guidance and assisting in their development

    The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.

    Qualifications and attributes we are looking for:


    Minimum 10 years of experience in environmental consulting, with a strong technical background in environmental site assessments, remediation, or contaminant hydrogeology preferred.

    Proven success in business development, client management and preparation of proposals

    Working knowledge of provincial, local and industry specific regulations and guidelines


    Professional status (PEng, PGeo, PAg, or PMP) or eligibility for professional status in BC - additional credentials in other provinces is an asset.

    Master's degree in a related field preferred

    Valid driver's license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required for travel to job sites/client meetings
