    Better neighbourhoods Inc.

    is a boutique consulting firm providing planning, urban design and land development consulting services to land developers throughout the Niagara Region.

    We use Traditional Neighbourhood Design/New Urbanist principles in all our work and advocate for the use of those principles in Regional and municipal policies, standards and public works as a community service.


    OUR PHILOSOPHY:

    This neighbourhood focused design approach enhances the value of the public realm and, in turn, the buildings within it.

    We believe good urban design is the key to solving many of the complex problems the built environment faces today.

    Our goal is to provide expertise to create great urban environments that not only add value, but are built for people, not just their cars.

    Frustrated with suburban land development patterns and the detrimental affect they have on quality of life, you are passionate about changing the built environment to be more sustainable, while using good urban design principles to create desirable places.

    You are an Urbanist with a degree in Urban Planning (or equivalent) and are familiar with municipal regulations and the Ontario Planning Act.

    You have proven project management skills and are adept at getting things done in a timely manner. A familiarity with necessary software tools helps make you an effective communicator and team collaborator. coordinate all supporting drawings, reports, surveys, plans, etc.

    • prepare planning justification reports
    • provide direction on rendered elevations, site plans, and cross sections
    • expedite planning approvals and development process
    • client interfacing and relationship management
