Job Duties
- Sets up for and produces hot food components for daily production and ensures adequate supply of all required ingredients while ensuring food safety practices are upheld (rotation, temperatures, storage labelling)
- Prepares station for daily production of orders
- Receives Customer orders; cooks and serves those orders at assigned food stations
- Provides required customer support, assists on other food stations as required and to cover coworker's breaks
- Ensures working area is kept clean, before, during and after orders are complete
- Responsible to know specific menu items, specials, ingredients, allergy items, and is prepared to answer customer queries
- Works as a team member and helps other staff with their duties when required
- Communicates with the Chef and/or Manager when customers have requests and/or concerns
- Identifies any needed stock or supplies required for ordering to Chef
- Receive and confirm orders as required
- Assist with preparation of catering food items as required
- Complies with all health and safety requirements and guidelines for working safely (lifting, knife safety, wet floor procedures and hot oven safety)
- Uses personal protective and safety equipment as required; Knows and follows safe work procedures that complies with all regulations
- Uses the principles of sanitation; wash, rinse and sanitize dishes, equipment and tools and server line counters frequently and /or as needed throughout each shift to reduce cross contamination possibilities; Follows weekly and monthly cleaning schedules
- Participate in education awareness and training programs as offered by the Company
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of 4 to 5 years industrial cooking and food service experience
- Ability to work independently and with a team, meet time targets, with strong organization skills
- Solid knowledge of food preparation and handling principles, processes, procedures, policies, directives and guidelines
- Knowledge of equipment and materials to use / operate used in food preparation areas such as grills, ovens, deep fryers, slicers, steamers and knives
- Current Safe Food Handlers Certificate
- Successful Police Check will be required
- Driver's License required
Salary:
$20.00-$25.00 per hour
