Construction Cost Consultant - Contract Position Employee

Company Overview:
We are a small fast-growing cost consulting firm working in the construction industry. The company is headquartered in Calgary, Canada. We help clients navigate through the complexities in construction cost management by providing cost estimating and consulting services.
We're looking for an experienced contract-based employee with at least five years of experience in fire and flood restoration. Strong communication skills are key, especially for interactions with clients. This role involves site visits, so familiarity with site inspections, measurements, damage assessment, and documentation is necessary.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interfaces with clients and project representatives adjusters, contractors, insureds, etc.
- Schedule and perform field inspections and necessary site visits to evaluate the scope of work/damage.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs and addressing any concerns promptly.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure projects meet client requirements, deadlines, and budgets.
- Communicate and attend site with thirdparty inspection companies including but not limited to structural engineers, architects, contractors, environmental inspections, etc.
- Assist in creating proposals and client presentations.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Provide technical direction to other consultants, interacting and supporting their files.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or associate degree from an accredited college or university; or 10+ years of demonstrable experience and accomplishments in the restoration industry, in lieu of degree may suffice.
- Minimum five years of experience in fire and flood restoration with experience in client interactions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel for site visits.
- Strong problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with construction contracts and documents.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Be able to work flexible hours as needed.
- Valid driver's license
. - Able to meet deadlines while being detailoriented.
- Strong independent work ethic and leadership skills and qualities.
- Exceptional customer service skills to support and solve our client's questions and requests.
Physical And Mental Job Qualifications
- Physically able to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections.
- May be exposed to UV radiation from the sun, radon, or other forms of air pollution.
- Willingness to travel locally, outofprovince, and for CAT response when needed
Salary and Benefits:
- The contractual employee will be compensated at a rate of $80$100 per hour.
