Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Charge Technologist or the Diagnostic Support Supervisor, the Diagnostic Clerk is responsible for performing functions pertaining to the Diagnostic Services Department by ensuring timeliness, accuracy and quality services to clients.
Experience:
- Hospital/medical clinic experience with work involving direct public contact and experience with diagnostic service information, i.e. ward clerk, health records clerk, or medical clinic reception/clerk preferred.
- Recent experience with office equipment including computers, fax machines, and copiers.
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):
- Grade 12 education or equivalent.
- Completion of postsecondary education in office administration through a business school or college an asset.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of Windows based programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook) and Internet.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Pleasant and courteous telephone manner.
- Demonstrates interpersonal skills through clear communication and positive behavior.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision and frequent interruptions.
- Ability to respect and promote culturally diverse population.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to make decisions and demonstrate problemsolving skills.
- Accurate word processing at 40 words per minute.
- Ability to speak of Cree an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer.
- Interacts with the public. Sitting for long periods.
