Westben seeks to hire a Development Associate who will contribute to our ongoing resource development initiatives in support of Community Engagement and Artistic Programming, Operations, and Capital Development Projects.


Responsibilities include:
strategizing, sourcing and identifying potential public and private funds through research and analysis.

Duties will focus on grant writing, tracking and reporting, communicating with Members and Donors, processing donations, cultivating relationships with potential Donors, Sponsors and Granting Institutions.

Marketing, Customer Service and Fundraising Event Coordination in collaboration with Westben's staff and volunteers is required.

  • Offers exceptional organizational skills and can prioritize well to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
  • Has great interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals, while maintaining a high standard of professionalism.
  • Works well collaboratively as well as independently.
  • Flexible to work onsite when required including some weekends (for special events)
  • Has the ability to think critically, creatively and make informed decisions.
  • Is comfortable learning and maximizing the potential of donor database systems and software.
  • Works in a highly productive manner and has previous experience with resource development (preferably with notforprofit and/or charitable organizations) with proven successes.
Successful applicant must provide a Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
