Position Summary:
Perform duties in a safe manner with a focus on safe handling of waste oils and scrap metal. To ensure coolant and oil for all production machinery are maintained at appropriate levels.


The Main duties will include, but not limited to:

  • Perform duties in a safe manner with focus on accident prevention.
  • Change filters on various machines as required
  • Check lube and coolant levels daily and adjust as necessary for production machines
  • Maintain accurate daily records of coolant and oil levels
  • Clean coolant tanks as a part of preventative maintenance when required
  • Perform minor machine maintenance in regard to lube and coolant system
  • Ensure oil and lube areas are kept tidy, organized and all containers identified of contents
  • Conduct titration tests on washers
  • Complete oil inventory reorder form
  • Report concerns to your supervisor with regards to machines (excessive oil/coolant usages, leaks or no usage of oils / coolants
  • Ensure safe handling of waste oils and scrap metals
  • Empty garbage bins as required
  • Assist with material handling as necessary

Additional responsibilities:


  • Support and initiate continuous improvement initiative
  • Other duties/projects as assigned

Education, Experience & Knowledge:


  • 35 years of Lube Tech experience in an automotive environment
  • Current certification to operate a forklift is considered an asset

Specification:


  • Must be detail oriented to perform routine checks and maintain accurate records.
  • Able to communicate concerns or machine issues with supervisor as appropriate
  • Proven ability to work independently with little supervision

Working Conditions & Environment:
Manufacturing shop floor, exposure to loud environment, coolants & lubricants


Physical demands of position:
Standing, lifting, bending, twisting periodically.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
$19.00-$21.00 per hour
