    Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our Industrial and Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby office.

    This is a client facing role that requires technical expertise and client interaction including coordination between different disciplines. We are looking for someone with passion and drive, who is highly organized and with potential to take on and lead in the delivery of quality structural engineering work.     About the Role

  • Confidently produce detailed design of site services (foundations, steel work) and related infrastructure, as lead structural engineer for various projects.
  • Execute site visits as necessary to assess structural/civil infrastructure.
  • Direct/guide work of drafters producing structural drawings.
  • Participate in meetings for discussion of structural design directly with clients' engineers.
  • Produce documentation for project deliverables.
  • Support of engineering proposals, staying within the assigned budget and report any discrepancies.
  • Prepare structural deliverables in a multi-disciplinary environment.
  • Prepare civil, structural calculations in accordance with codes, client specifications and standards.
  • Design structures and structural modifications from foundations to structural supports, mainly steel and concrete design, for various infrastructure and seismic upgrade projects
  • Develop and maintain client relationships that foster potential site development and related project work growth opportunities.
  • Effectively apply Ausenco methodology and project standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in performing the work
  • Expect increasing levels of responsibility and to coach and mentor junior team members to build our Ausenco capability, this includes but not limited to delegating works and supervisor roles when required.
  • About You

  • A Bachelor's degree in Structural engineering from a post secondary education institution recognized by Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC)
  • A Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) designation in BC;
  • 5+ years of experience in Structural/Civil Engineering, including producing detail drawings and documentation.
  • Proficiency using SFRAME, ETABS or SAP2000 is required
  • Ability in designing work and coordinating with other disciplines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in delivering presentations
  • Experience contributing to or preparing proposals.
  • Sound organization and time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines with prioritizing the works and schedules.
  • A 'can do' team player attitude and skills to find solutions, and to resolve issues in an efficient and logical fashion
  • The self-starter capacity to take ownership of assigned tasks and to steward closure

    Salary range: $85,000-$130,000

    Expected Salary: Variation in salary is determined by factors such as qualifications, relevant years of experience, and prevailing market conditions for the specific role.
