Project Overview:


Bechtel Infrastructure will work in a Delivery Partner role within an integrated team with the customer organization for a Subway Project in Toronto, Ontario.

The project scope includes the design build, operations and maintenance of all infrastructure and rail systems associated with 15 stations and over 15km of new alignment, being performed by three key PPP Contractors and multiple advanced early works (EAW) packages Contractors.

Bechtel form a key component of the overall Integrated Project Delivery team (comprising the customer, MX; the Technical Advisor, and Bechtel as the Delivery Partner).


Job Summary:

The Pape SOE Technical Delivery Coordinator will be responsible for tracking, monitoring, and assessing the contractors progress for shop drawing production, quantity growth and submittal delivery/ tracking the reviews

Major Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates the efforts between all parties to develop the assurance packages for PAPE SOE to align engineering/ construction deliverables with the assurance gate process
  • Coordinates activities with the deployed interface lead/ coordinator
  • Reviews Contractors progress for production of detailing, shop drawings, etc against approved schedules, evaluates changes and recommends corrective action when required.
  • Monitors the flow of information required from third parties to assure the timely progress of the engineering work/ integration aspects.
  • Establishes engineering progress & performance reporting, in collaboration with Contractors detailed design house
  • Develops, internally, check Scurves (waterfall) for detailed design/ submittal production.
  • Works with the design review (EoR) team to align internal OLTA (OL Technical Advisor) review resources with the detailed design submittal schedule
  • Works with the BIM team to capture any changes agreed with the EoR IFC design and the Contractors detailing
  • Works with the BIM team to understand quantity status (particularly with regards to any growth) and notifies the delivery manager of any change
  • Responsible for implementing any OL Program Engineering Management plans, procedures and processes cascaded by the Program Technical Delivery Supervisor
  • Assesses contractors package submission quality performance factor and works with the Delivery Manager if quality is poor
  • Work with the deployed Interface Lead/ Coordinator to review project schedules for consideration of interface requirements so that deliverables are provided in a timely manner across the program;
  • Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification, or destruction. Never knowingly put Metrolinx's information or information systems at risk.

Education and Experience Requirements:


  • Requires bachelor's degree from an accredited university or Minimum of 7 years' experience working in the rail industry and/or largescale infrastructure projects; or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Successful Engineering/ Interface Management track record on a major multidisciplinary rail project
  • Demonstrated technical writing, data management, verbal communication, presentation, and teaching skills.
  • A firm understanding of rail engineering procedures, principles, and concepts.
  • Experience working with teams and stakeholders in the development and delivery of large infrastructure projects. Ability to communicate across technical disciplines (engineering, construction, operations, maintenance).
  • Knowledgeable in planning and executing
