Job summary
The successful candidate will provide essential support within the Operative Services DTC including the Operating Theatres Pre-operative Area and Recovery Room This role is integral to maintaining the efficiency and safety of surgical procedures and patient care Primary duties include patient transport environmental cleaning restocking supplies and safe handling of medical equipment and sterile products.Responsibilities
- Assist nursing and medical staff with lifting positioning transferring patients Support patients during special procedures e.g limb holding for prepping positioning for spinal anesthesia Transport patients to from department before after surgery.
- Transport equipment instruments department Deliver specimens blood products laboratory Safely transport store handle medical gases accordance Canadian Safety Standards Restock hospital equipment sterile supplies required Prepare Sutures instruments equipment surgical procedures Set up gas machines assist assembling OR tables direction clinical staff.
- Perform thorough cleaning disinfection Operating Room patient-use equipment Ensure proper disposal biohazardous materials containers Comply Workplace Health Safety standards times Report concerns regarding equipment supplies safety hazards Unit Manager Supervisor Team Lead.
