At Newfoundland and Labrador Health Services (Digital Health) we provide quality information to health professionals, the public, researchers, and health system decision makers.

Through collaboration with the health system, we support the development of data and technical standards, maintain key health databases, carry out analytics and evaluation and support health research.

We support the regional health authorities, as well as the patients and communities they serve, in the delivery of information technology (IT) and eHealth services applied in the healthcare system to provide quality care.

Our mandate also includes the development and implementation of a confidential and secure provincial electronic health record as well as other provincial clinical information programs, including the change management required to support adoption by end user clinicians.


About the Role
We are currently looking for a permanent, full time Accounting Clerk to join our Finance team.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the following:


  • Ensuring that A/P transactions comply with financial policies and procedures
  • Receive and verify invoices, matching invoices to POs/packing slips to ensure accuracy
  • Process invoices for payment on a timely basis
  • Printing monthly A/P report: aged trial balance
  • Creating outstanding POs report monthly and contacting each department on outstanding issues
  • Reconciliation to monthly vendor statements
  • Processing EFT runs
  • Maintain an electronic filing system for payables and related posting journals
  • Responding to inquiries and working to reconcile discrepancies with internal staff and vendors
  • Payroll processing support as needed

About You

Your education and experience include:

  • Diploma in Accounting or related field
  • A minimum of two years experience in an Accounting Clerk role
  • Payroll experience will be considered an asset

You have the following skills and abilities:

  • Knowledge of accounting and purchasing procedures
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience using MS Dynamics considered an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Selfmotivated and possess excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to adapt to a fastpaced, rapidly changing work environment
  • Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered._
