  • Position Summary:_


Provides insight and support of product validation and sourcing strategies for the Regional Merchandising Team as part of the overall National Merchandising approach, in alignment with customer needs and specifications, divisional objectives, and United Trimen merchandising strategies.


Scheduling:

This position requires on-site presence from Monday to Friday, with working hours set from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Address: 1250 Ormont Dr, Toronto, ON M9L 2V- Essential Functions:_- Performs product validation, sourcing, and slotting activity for the regional merchandising team for all stock items with primary focus on Restaurant supplies and equipment. Determines the most efficient sourcing solutions to meet key customer specifications while striving for alignment with divisional, regional and national goals and objectives. Organizes product mapping and provides cost, price, and item data for potential, new, and existing business. Collaborates with the divisional key customer stakeholders, regional merchandising teams, and national teams to establish appropriate sales, brand, and margin on item and vendor portfolios. Participates in the creation of new proprietary vendors and stocked items following the defined national processes. Understands, requests, and analyzes pertinent reports and resources to drive effective decision-making to provide product expertise. Supports the roles of pricing coordinators with vacation coverage as required. Performs other duties as assigned.- Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:_- Understanding of principles of food service vendors, products, cost, freight, and sourcing Must have strong mathematical skills and ability to calculate figures such as averages, proportions, percentages, etc.
Must have good customer service and time management skills. Must have good verbal and written communication skills including the ability to write routine reports and electronic correspondence. Must have the ability to speak effectively with internal customers, suppliers or colleagues on the phone and face to face. Attention to processes and detail and demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Must have skill in self management and task prioritization, accepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitments and reacts well under pressure and to fluctuations in workload

  • Educational & Experience Requirements:
_- Two or more years previous experience in data entry, product/category merchandising, sourcing, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.- Equipment / Tools / Technology:_- Desktop or laptop computer Google Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Sites, Drive, Docs, Groups) Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer) Networked printer/copier/facsimile machine.
