We currently have an opportunity for a Purchaser to join our team in Winnipeg.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Network Planning, the Purchaser is responsible for purchasing services and materials for Richardson Food & Ingredients while acting as the point of contact for suppliers, vendors and production site staff.


Responsibilities:


  • Purchase material and coordinate deliveries ensuring they are on time and accurate
  • Provide daily updates related to inventory levels, forecasting, back ordered products and open requisitions to the planner
  • Develop long lasting relationships with vendors and suppliers to improve processes, negotiate pricing, and monitor performance
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures as it relates to purchasing

Qualifications:

  • Postsecondary education in Business or Supply Chain/Logistics preferred with 5 years business experience focusing on Sales, Logistics, Inventory Control and Purchasing or a combination of education and experience
  • Excellent customer service, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong creative thinking and problem solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with team members
  • Previous experience in a fastpaced environment with changing priorities is considered an asset
