At the Glenrose Social Work Department, we actively contribute to a respectful and inclusive workplace.

Working as a part of an interdisciplinary team, the Social Worker II facilitates the adjustment of clients/patients to the psychosocial results of accident/injury, medical conditions, or developmental problems.

Duties include providing client care including assessment, intervention, education, advocacy, resource finding, consultation and discharge planning for patients and their families within assigned programs/units.

The Social Worker II also participates in non-client care activities including program planning, resource development, evaluation, quality improvement, research, and staff development.

Responsibilities include participation in activities and initiatives aimed at promoting, maintaining, and improving quality and safety for patients, families, and caregivers.

As a Social Worker II, you will be a member of an inter-disciplinary team and provides a range of social work services to patients and their families


Your services may include:

psychosocial assessment, resource-based interventions, individual, group and family treatment, risk screening, counselling, case management and coordination, transition or discharge planning, and prevention, promotion and public awareness activities.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of bachelor's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).


Additional Required Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills are required. Proficiency in family assessment/intervention and demonstrated familiarity with community resources in health and disability support services are required.


Preferred Qualifications:

Healthcare and hospital experience is preferred. Knowledge of decision-making capacity assessment process and relevant legislation. Experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred. Master of Social Work preferred. Connect Care is an asset.
