Job Objectives/Initiatives:

Responsible for the development, implementation, training, and maintenance of facility Environmental, Health & Safety policies and procedures to reduce team member injury, minimize company exposure and ensure compliance with corporate Environmental, Health & Safety management system and all applicable Environmental, Health & Safety regulations.
Ensures ongoing compliance with all environmental permits, regulations, and reporting requirements for primary facilities.
Ensures alignment on programs involving team member engagement and behaviorbased safety processes to drive a Zero & Beyond culture.
Leads and maintains certification of ISO 14001 at primary sites.
Builds competent EHS Committees at facility sites through communicating corporate procedures, coaching, training, and follow up on issues related to EHS.
Responsible for timely and accurate reporting of all Corporate EHS metrics and data requests.
Proactively provides handson support in areas such as: Health, Safety and Environmental Procedure implementation (Corporate and site specific), behavioral safety processes, corporate safety mandates, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations.
Drives an incident reporting process that ensures effective investigation, reporting, corrective actions, and best practice sharing throughout their business unit and corporate.
Conducts and assists with internal and external EHS audits and meets with regulatory agencies during facility inspections/audits as required.
Acts as a support resource in the development and review of facility specific EHS training needs analysis, operational reviews and new equipment assessments.
Partners with Facility leadership to participate in key EHS team meetings, Kaizen/Gemba events, and other key meetings where EHS representation is requested.
Participates in other key EHS initiatives as assigned by the Director of EHS.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and/or environmental studies, engineering, or other related field.

Experience

5 plus years of direct EHS experience including government compliance, behaviorbased safety, process hazard and risk analysis, root cause evaluation, incident management, standards and procedural development, auditing, and training.
Proficient in both French and English.
Knowledge of Canadian and U.S. health and safety regulations.
Knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001 Management Systems.
Experience in multisite leadership a plus.
Knowledge of worker's compensation regulations.
Strong organizational & planning skills.
Excellent analytical skills & problemsolving skills.
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written), able to interact with all levels in the organization.
Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
