JOB SUMMARY:

Lantic is currently recruiting a Shift Team Leader to be based at our Montreal refinery.

The position reports to the Manager, Packaging/Finished Products and is assigned to the day shift; however, depending on organizational needs, the incumbent may be required to work other shifts.

The Shift Team Leader is responsible for planning, organizing, controlling and coordinating all operations in order to maintain constant production and ensure that products are manufactured in a way that meets quality standards and follows current health and safety rules in place.

He/she must also support their team in the execution of their tasks.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Meet with the evening/night shift Team Leaders in order to stay up to date with the various problems that have arisen during the previous shifts;
  • Keep up to date on the production schedule for the day shift and ensure that it is respected;
  • Ensure all personnel required for production is present in the appropriate sectors;
  • Tour all sectors on a regular basis;
  • Ensure compliance with OHS standards and the quality assurance rules in effect;
  • Solve all problems related to production, quality assurance, occupational health and safety rules and absenteeism;
  • Collaborate with planners in the assignment of employees required to work overtime;
  • Write reports on activities related to production, maintenance, personnel and occupational health and safety rules for the sectors concerned;
  • Prepare all production activities and the assignment of personnel for the day shift;
  • Carry out the movement of the workforce for the day shift;
  • Follow up on work related to the maintenance and production of products/byproducts sector.

QUALIFICATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


  • College Diploma in Operations Management or equivalent;
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in operations management, in the field of food production or equivalent experience;
  • Experience in personnel management in a unionized environment or demonstrated leadership skills as an operator or equivalent experience;
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office software ("Excel, Word, Outlook");
  • Proven skills in priority management and a good sense of urgency;
  • The ability to effectively lead, coach and empower team members;
  • Strong sense of responsibility; adaptability and autonomy.
