Program Manager (Part-Time)
Youth Assisting Youth (YAY) is seeking a highly organized, goal-oriented program manager to join our growing organization.

As an experienced administrator with superior knowledge of family, child and youth issues you will act as the prime liaison between program staff and upper management, leading and supervising the program team to the successful output and fulfillment of the organization's goals and objectives.


  • Must have a valid Ontario class "G" driver's license and access to an insured vehicle.
  • Proof of COVID19 Vaccinations and booster is required.
  • This position is On-Site

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support and maintain effective communication with the crossfunctional Program Team, including Case Coordinators, Parent Support Coordinators, Outreach Coordinator, Volunteer Recruitment Coordinators, Client Activities Liaison, Mental Health Counsellor, Boys Empowerment Coordinator, Girls Empowerment Coordinator, Tutoring Coordinator & Assistants
  • Support the Program Team to achieve the Federal Government IRCC newcomer targets for the 1:1 Peer Mentoring, Tutoring, Girls Empowerment and Boys Empowerment programs
  • Drive and Manage the Newcomer matching process to ensure that all Newcomer clients are expedited through the home assessment and matching process
  • Monitor caseload management, the flow of volunteer recruitment, screening & training and the matching process
  • Track project performance using appropriate tools and techniques
  • Prepare regular status reports and present project updates to senior management
  • Complete employee evaluations in conjunction with the Program Director
  • Work collaboratively with the Program Director to monitor and enhance existing processes, procedures, forms, letters and resources to ensure that program staff have the best tools available to carry out their duties
  • Support the Program Director with hiring, including screening, interviewing, reference checks, employee contracts and onboarding of new employees

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work or equivalent field
  • 5 plus years of experience in social services program and project management, specifically working with children and youth
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of issues faced by immigrants and new Canadian
  • Assessment and relationship development experience with child and youth populations and a solid understanding of child development and family dynamics
  • Intake, interview and case management experience preferred
  • Excellent judgment and decisionmaking skills, as well as a performancedriven mindset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of community and newcomer services organizations
  • Experience managing volunteers, especially youth volunteers, is an asset
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
  • Fluency in a second language is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Ability to work some evenings and occasional weekends
  • Must have a valid Ontario Class "G" driver's license and access to an insured vehicle
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate or be willing to obtain
  • Police Criminal Reference and Vulnerable Sector Screen Check is required

COMPENSATION
- This is a six months full-time contract position with a possibility of extension. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Vaccination is a key element in the protection against the hazards of COVID-19. YAY has adopted a Mandatory COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. Employees, seasonal/part-time staff, volunteers & youth are required to be fully vaccinated with a booster.

For over 46 years, it has paired volunteer young adult mentors aged 16-29, with youth ages 6-15 to engage in activities to develop mind, body, character, and leadership skills.

Our non-profit connects volunteers to meaningful mentorship experiences that profoundly impact the most vulnerable youth and their families in communities across the City of Toronto and York Region.


Job Types:
Part-time, Fixed term contract

Contract length: 6 months

Expected hours: 20 per week
