The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Director of Poultry Business Optimization, the Manager, Sales Optimization plays a key role in maximizing the profitability of our fresh poultry supply within the network capacity and capabilities.

This is a high impact role and excellent opportunity for an individual looking for experience in management of all aspects of a business.

This individual along with the Sr Analyst will analyze the profitability of the fresh poultry business to develop and support recommendations for taking on new business or trading up existing business.

This role requires leading collaboration with our Sales and Marketing teams across all levels of the business to identify, develop, recommend and realize incremental value-added businesses.

  • Qualitative &

Quantitative Analysis:

Complete business analytics to support taking on new business or trading up existing business including gross profit comparisons and supply options.


  • Synthesis and Recommendations: Synthesize collected information, analytical findings and issues into concise actionable summaries suitable for presentation to senior management and customers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Work with Director of Poultry Business Optimization on developing factbased recommendations and action plans on key business issues involving input from multiple stakeholders.
  • Interpersonal: Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business: Retail & Food Service Commercial Teams, Operations, Product Management, Procurement, Industrial Sales, Demand & Supply Planning, Production Planning, Finance, Revenue Management.
  • Information Gathering: Work at all levels of the organization to solicit input, gather information, and organize options for analysis.
  • Project Management: Support team on projects involving existing and new business.
  • Profit Management: Provide regular reporting on GP$ performance across our poultry channels. Work with our Product Management and Marketing teams to identify areas of opportunity and ensure new SKU's are meeting expectations.
  • New Business Opportunities: Write and maintain new business opportunity trackers and help lead weekly POM meetings where needed.
  • Drive Sustainability: Evaluate and drive opportunities that improve our RWA Utilization, directly affecting MLF's progression towards our Sustainability objectives
Position Outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to interact and contribute to the Poultry Optimization team and other departments in achieving their Poultry goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated Leadership in pushing sales and marketing on POM approved opportunities, ensuring they are commercialized efficiently and launch as aligned to
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process and explain recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather and summarize data to help influence key optimization business decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and update presentations and recommendations for Poultry business optimization team.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and lead people / projects.

What You'll Bring:


  • 3 to 5 years of experience in one of or a combination of Finance / Strategy / Product Management / Marketing / Sales / Demand & Supply Chain Planning.
  • University degree or Community College diploma in a related field
  • Demonstrated project and / or financial experience.
  • Team player with strong communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Ability to work independently and drive to solutions
  • Action oriented with a proven ability to execute in a highly demanding environment
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and time management skills
  • Professional attitude and dedication to outstanding quality
  • Ability to improve process by proactively seeking and implementing new opportunities

  • Superior analytical skills and the ability to quickly and efficiently evaluate large data sets using advanced techniques (pivot tables, logic statements, macro information)
  • Superior IT skills including Excel, Word and Power Point/Think cell; SAP experience an asset
