High-Level Description:

  • Performs work connected with the maintenance and repair (except welding) of the pipeline, right ofway and related facilities.
  • Provide emergency response support as required to address any pipeline emergencies.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Pipeline maintenance as well as equipment repair and maintenance on the pipeline, rightofway and related facilities. These activities include the use and safe operation of vehicles, construction equipment, torque equipment, power/pneumatic hand tools, landscaping equipment for rightofway maintenance.
  • Ensures all work is in compliance with Enbridge safety, environmental, and operating procedures.
  • Provides effective assistance in emergency response activities including containment, repair and cleanup.
  • Assures appropriate level of Emergency Preparedness through training and maintenance of equipment.
  • Provides support for other pipeline integrity programs and groups (pigging, piping upgrades, sleeving, etc.).
  • Ensures all Ontario One Calls, third party crossings, and locate requests are handled/marked promptly, accurately, and safety.
  • Coordinates PLM activities necessary to perform planned maintenance, Capital Projects and Emergency response.
  • Assures that proper documentation is completed in all aspects of work as required. (Driving, safety, excavation, QC, equipment, PM, Maximo, etc.).
  • Operate all specialized pipeline repair equipment (compressor, impacts, pipe cutters, vapour tools, torque wrenches, pumps, loaders, skid steers etc)
  • Assist with pipeline valve maintenance, and other piping modifications as required.
  • Assisting with loading and pulling of smart tools as required.
  • Assist with loading and pulling cleaning tools as required.
  • Assist with maintenance activities on ROW (brushing, grass cutting, sign repair etc.).
  • Performs all duties with a high regard for safety, ensuring all work is in compliance with company safety, environmental and operating procedures/policies.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by providing a safe, efficient and environmentally sensitive service that meets their needs.
  • Reporting any safety, environmental, or equipment issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a good working relationship with all landowners and government agencies along the rightofway and all other internal and external departments.
  • Ensures all tools, equipment, vehicles and work areas are in good, clean working order.
  • Completes weekly and monthly reports as required (timesheets, work orders, safety observations, safety inspections, expenses.)
  • Establish development goals (IDP) and meet quarterly with People Leader to discuss performance objectives and IDP goals. Complete safety and other required training as assigned.
  • Will be required to be placed on a rotating oncall schedule for one week in duration approximately once every 5 weeks.
  • Learn and accept additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Scope/ Dimensions Contacts (Working Relationships):

  • Interacts with other departments and Stakeholders as required to maintain an efficient and effective level of service for the protection of all pipeline assets in the operating region Hours of work and shifts are typically Mon-Fri dayshift, out of town travel approximately 20%. Longer hours and more frequent travel will be required as needed for project work and as work load dictates.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Completion of a high school diploma or GED
  • Experience in Heavy Equipment Operation preferred.
  • Emergency response training and knowledge.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Class G driver's license in good standing, Class A preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge and experience with various handheld tools and machinery.
  • Proven strong work ethic, good computer skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Teams a willingness to learn and a helpful positive team attitude.

Working Conditions:

  • Mix of office and field, with frequent travels along the RightofWay and to various stations.
  • Hours of work vary depending on workload, emergency response, capital projects and pipeline schedules.
