***: Reporting to the Manager, Decoration Services, the Graphics Coordinator is responsible to coordinate all design jobs between the Graphics department and customers, as well as IML/Sleeve suppliers, Customer Service, Sales and Printing departments of both Polytainers plants.

The Graphics Coordinator is responsible for food safety and quality procedures to ensure that the Company's objectives for food safety and quality meet or exceed customer's and regulatory agency's requirements.


POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

Art Dockets

  • Open graphics art job dockets in Filemaker Pro using job information provided by customer and Customer Service department.
  • Create digital docket on Esko
  • Update job information in docket database and on Esko (Digital Docket) throughout project.
  • Dispose of past physical dockets in back room at the beginning of the year
Communication

  • Coordinate project communication among Customer Service, Sales and Printing departments of both Polytainers plants.
  • Communicate directly with customers and design agencies, external prepress facilities, and IML/Sleeve suppliers when necessary for project management
  • Communicate with other team members with status of projects/artwork
  • Order ink drawdowns from ink supplier when necessary for the project and keep a record of it in Filemaker database
Proofreading

  • Communicate with artist and suppliers if changes are required
  • Update Filemaker database with the date pdfs sent to customer
Info Sheets/Len Files

  • Produce info sheets and plate box stickers for every job using Esko workflow
  • Check each info sheet to ensure all information is correct and complete before releasing to printing department.
  • Check len files before releasing to printing
  • Send any required Epson/Target proofs/ink drawdowns to Toronto and Lee's Summit plant
  • Recreate info sheets and replace on servers whenever color changes have been made during creation of print standard on press.
  • Recreate info sheets and update database whenever there is a mold change for customers depending on situation
  • Complete weekly discontinued items list that is received every Thursday from Customer Service, obsolete items from ESKO, LEN out files, pull all info sheets from active binders, stamp info sheets to cancelled and file info sheets in obsolete binders
  • File all completed info sheets
Administrative

  • Move dockets, file info sheets and target/Epson proofs/ink drawdowns
  • Take care of all mail that is being sent to customers, and shipping of target/Epson proofs/ink drawdowns to Lee's Summit plant
  • Check mail in main office everyday
  • Check for lab coats for all team members
  • Flexible and willing to perform other duties, as assigned
  • Highly organized with great attention to detail
  • Self starter and able to work Independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while maintaining positive attitude
  • Flexibility to work overtime, other shifts and long weekends based on department requirements
  • Ability to manage significant workload
  • Can deal with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Demonstrates resilience when faced with stress and changes

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:


Educational Requirements:
post secondary education in graphics production


Minimum Experience/Field: 2 years' experience in graphics production environment, preferably in a detail-oriented trafficking position. Good understanding of plate files and how they affect the printing process


Computer Skills:
basic understanding of Mac OS, Filemaker Pro, and ESKO programs
