Canadian Royalties Inc. is a private mining company based in Montreal that operates a copper and nickel mine in Nunavik.


MINING TECHNICIAN TRAINEE

The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 6 paid weeks: 3 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 3 weeks of rest.


Salary: 25$/Hour & Time and a Half during the weekend

Future challenges
Reporting to the Production Mining Engineer, the mining technician trainee is responsible of:

  • For all surveying in the field (pits, underground mine and construction project);
  • Implementing drill holes, limitations and work areas;
  • Planning, organizing and ensure monitoring all survey projects on the field;
  • Producing projected plans set as requested;
  • Monitoring surveying projects in the field
  • Conducting audits and data validation;
  • Perform various tasks including drone piloting and GPS;
  • Plan underground mine infrastructure: CMS, alignment and progress survey of the galleries (update of plans of the end of the month);
  • Understanding mining industry to make sure the production as all the tools needed to progress;
  • Performing other duties as the supervisor may think necessary to ensure the effective conduct of mining activities.

What we are looking for**- Professional experience in mining geology not required (an asset)

  • Have some experience and have a good knowledge of Deswik and Microsoft Office Suite;
  • Have a good knowledge of Leica surveying devices (an asset).
  • Good knowledge of the surveying methods in surface (open pit) and underground mine;
  • Understand, know and be familiar with the mining and geology;
  • To have skills in the field of communication (report, presentation, etc);
  • Valid driver's license and the Quebec general handling of explosives permit is essential
  • Good ability to communicate verbally and in writing in French, ability for verbal communication in English
