Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Manager, Key Accounts, this position is responsible for driving sales across the Energy Services & Solutions (ESS) portfolio.
Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:
- Accountable to meet or exceed assigned targets within assigned customer base.
- Develops personal sales plan to meet assigned targets, for approval by Supervisor.
- Analyzes potential within assigned customer base and determines strategies and tactics to cross sell ESS portfolio of solutions.
- Performs site assessment visits for assigned customers and determines customer needs within facilities.
- Coordinates feasibility studies and professional audits.
- Explains new technologies and long term billing impacts to customers on their energy demand and consumption profile within their facility.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with suppliers, industry associations and other channel partners, as required to meet personal targets and/or as assigned by Supervisor.
- Assists internal and external technical reviewers in project evaluations as needed.
- Acts as primary point of contact within the organization for all ESS activities and inquiries.
- Explores opportunities for emerging technologies.
- Attends workshops, seminars, information sessions and conferences for market intelligence and networking purposes and reports back to management.
- Provides support in planning, execution and delivery of outreach activities such as customer workshops, presentations, training sessions and meetings.
- Represents the organization on committees and work groups as assigned.
- Assists in coordination of customer recognition activities.
- Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service delivery
- Ensures compliance to legislative, regulatory and Health & Safety policies, procedures and standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:
Education & Specialized Knowledge
- Postsecondary degree/diploma in related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience
- Registered member of Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) in good standing an asset
- Current knowledge of the energy landscape in Ontario (i.e. regulations, policies, government agencies, provincial programs) would be an asset
- Solid technical understanding of energy use, energy efficiency/demand management technologies and energy management practices in industrial, commercial and institutional facilities
Experience
- Minimum 35 years related experience
- Work experience in account management or sales in the energy sector, or similar technical field
Skills/Abilities/Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a strong customer service orientation
- Proven track record of delivering sales results and commitment to operational and service excellence
- Solid problemsolving and analytical skills with the ability to provide practical and/or innovative solutions to complex technical issues
- Strong written and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information in an organized and concise way
- Ability to plan, prioritize and execute multiple projects and initiatives within established timelines
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Proven track record of delivering results and commitment to operational and customer service excellence
- Understanding of the billing structure for industrial, commercial and institutional customers
- Must hold and maintain a valid class G driver's license
