Job Description for:
CASHIER


General Purpose of Position:


A Cashier is responsible for maintaining outstanding customer service as per Company Standards, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, cash register operations and safeguarding company assets.

Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other aspects of customer service.

Readily accepts additional responsibilities and duties as assigned. Cross training will be required and will be provided.


Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits and issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
  • Maintain an awareness of all promotions and advertisements.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly appearance of register area & main entrance Maintain store environment, including clean and dust product displays and faces the products
  • Ensure there's always enough carts for customers and bring in carts inside the store
  • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
  • Check, replace price tags and assist with putting away stock
  • Arrive 15 minutes early for your shift to count till.
  • Receive customers' requests by telephone, analyzes requests, provides information requested or ascertains who can best provide the information and route the request to the proper person

Skills and Competencies:


  • Ability to process information/merchandise through register system
  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers
  • Ability to operate cash register in order to perform the job
  • Ability to process merchandise returns and exchanges, resolve customer complaints, answer customers' questions and provide information on procedures or policies

Requirements:


  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting, and perform all functions as set forth above
  • Should be able to do repetitious work accurately and need good manual dexterity
  • Ability to deal tactfully and pleasantly with customers
  • Ability to work varied hours/days, including evenings, weekends and holidays, as needed.
  • Attends and participates in all scheduled training and company meetings.

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 20-40 per week
