Description

As a Building Mechanics Technician, you are responsible for the installation, repair and maintenance of building equipment, while ensuring the proper functioning of heating, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems.

You respond to residents' repair requests, manage supplies, and collaborate with other professionals to ensure quality of service. Mastering technical and organizational skills, you are able to effectively solve problems encountered.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Carry out the necessary installations and fittings in the building;
  • Perform various installation, modification or repair work;
  • Perform other routine maintenance work, such as painting and repairing dry wallboard;
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment and make requisitions as required;
  • Respond to residents' requests for minor repairs;
  • Provide general assistance to qualified professionals such as mechanics, electricians, carpenters and plumbers;
  • As required, monitor the performance of external contractors to ensure quality of work and excellence in customer service;
  • Participate in quality inspections with the housekeeping supplier and ensure that the quotation and standards of the housekeeping service are met;
  • Report any maintenance deficiencies so that corrective action can be taken.
  • Put away equipment and ensure that equipment is in good condition;
  • Perform any other task deemed compatible with his/her duties, when required by his/her immediate supervisor.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Building Mechanics or a diploma or attestation of studies or relevant experience;
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, ideally in carpentry, building maintenance, renovation;
  • Ability to work in a team, dexterity and initiative;
  • Capable of pushing, pulling, and lifting moderate weights, up to 50 lbs;
  • Hold a valid driver's license;
  • Fluency in French and English.
This role involves interaction with internal and external clients and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
