What does an internal sales representative do?


The Internal Sales Representative is responsible for supporting business development throughout the sales process and assisting the sales team in achieving its objectives.


Specifically, he is responsible for:

  • Preparing quotations that meet the clients' needs according to established criteria.
  • Providing followups to both internal and external clients throughout the sales process.
  • Assisting in prospecting to discover new revenue opportunities.
  • Ensuring all necessary client information is accurately documented.
  • Generating purchase orders for the factory and managing appropriate followups.
  • Contributing to maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction to foster longterm partnerships.
  • Handling visitors and calls from potential clients.
  • Keeping uptodate with industry knowledge, as well as new products and accessories.
  • Assisting the sales team during meetings, client engagements, and other events.
  • Performing any other related tasks to support business development and maintain partnerships.

The key to success in this position:

  • College diploma in administration, Professional studies in sales, or other relevant training.
  • 5 years or more of experience in sales/customer service.
  • Experience with products with technical specifications (trucks, heavy equipment, capacities, etc.).
  • Fully bilingual in both oral and written communication (French and English).
  • Knowledge of North American transportation laws (an asset).
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Good time and priority management.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills (French and English).
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
