What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:
- Promote environmental protection, pollution prevention and conservation
- Provide legislative and policy advice and recommendations to various stakeholders
- Identify environmental issues and conflicts and develop and integrate solutions
- Review official plans, plans of subdivisions, amendments, as well as provide presubmission consultation
- Identify, develop and implement outreach and training to promote sound land use management and environmental assessments
- Coordinate reviews of environmental assessments by internal teams in areas of air, water and land
- Prepare minister's correspondence, briefing notes and other documents

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:
You have:
- Analytical, research, and planning skills to assess and identify environmental issues, conflicts and implement solutions
- Negotiation skills to resolve conflicting opinions, and provide recommendations (e.g. articles of settlement at hearings)
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
You have communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to prepare and present assessments/recommendations and present Ministry positions on environmental resource management
Project Management Skills:
You have:
- Project management and organizational skills to plan/coordinate the review of numerous submissions to ensure legislated timelines are met and work is completed in accordance with established regional priorities
- Ability to work independently and in a team
