What can I expect to do in this role?: In this role, you will:

Promote environmental protection, pollution prevention and conservation
Provide legislative and policy advice and recommendations to various stakeholders
Identify environmental issues and conflicts and develop and integrate solutions
Review official plans, plans of subdivisions, amendments, as well as provide presubmission consultation
Identify, develop and implement outreach and training to promote sound land use management and environmental assessments
Coordinate reviews of environmental assessments by internal teams in areas of air, water and land
Prepare minister's correspondence, briefing notes and other documents

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

You have:

Analytical, research, and planning skills to assess and identify environmental issues, conflicts and implement solutions
Negotiation skills to resolve conflicting opinions, and provide recommendations (e.g. articles of settlement at hearings)

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
You have communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to prepare and present assessments/recommendations and present Ministry positions on environmental resource management

Project Management Skills:

You have:

Project management and organizational skills to plan/coordinate the review of numerous submissions to ensure legislated timelines are met and work is completed in accordance with established regional priorities
Ability to work independently and in a team
