Norseman is one of the largest suppliers and manufacturers of industrial fabric, foam, and film products in North America. We are looking to add a Fiercely Reliable
Process Engineer at our Newmarket location.

The
Process Engineer will play a crucial role in the development, improvement, and maintenance of manufacturing processes. They will work to streamline operations, reduce waste, and enhance product quality while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.


Responsibilities:

1.


Process Design and Improvement:


  • Analyze existing manufacturing processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process modifications to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Create and update process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.

Equipment Selection and Optimization:


  • Select, install, and commission equipment and machinery suitable for specific manufacturing processes.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and troubleshoot any issues to minimize downtime.

Quality Control and Assurance:


  • Develop quality control procedures to ensure products meet or exceed industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze process data to identify quality issues and implement corrective actions.
4.


Safety and Compliance:


  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
  • Implement safety measures and procedures to protect employees and the environment.
  • Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses for manufacturing processes.
5.


Data Analysis and Process Monitoring:


  • Collect and analyze data related to process performance, production rates, and product quality.
  • Use statistical methods and software tools to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Cost Reduction and Efficiency Enhancement:


  • Identify opportunities to reduce production costs, such as material usage, energy consumption, and labor.
  • Optimize production schedules and resource allocation for maximum efficiency.

Cross-functional Collaboration:


  • Collaborate with other departments, including research and development, quality control, maintenance, and production, to achieve processrelated goals.

Continuous Improvement:


  • Implement Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies to drive efficiency and quality improvements.
  • Participate in process audits and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements:


  • 3+ years experience in a manufacturing environment troubleshooting, reporting and improving systems.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD
  • Postsecondary education in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in ISO implementation an asset
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental regulations.
  • Strong problemsolving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Project management skills for overseeing process improvement projects.
  • Communicates effectively in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
