Key Qualifications:

  • Certificate from both an Occupational Therapist Assistant Program and the Physiotherapist Assistant Program; at minimum PTA certification
  • Experience providing care to postoperative TJR patients preferred
  • Confident overseeing exercise and functional activity
  • Reliable, flexible, creative, selfdirected professional with demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team members, to exercise good judgment, critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrates effective interpersonal, organizational, communication and documentation skills
  • A positive work and attendance record is essentialPosition Summary
  • As an active member of a multidisciplinary team, the OTA/PTA provides clientcentered clinical care for assigned patients under the direction and supervision of a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist.
  • Provides goaloriented treatment interventions, patient/family education and support to address physical, emotional and selfcare needs as assigned
  • Administers exercise protocols as delegated by physiotherapist for Post operative Total Joint Replacement patients in 1 on 1 and group settings
  • Provides timely and astute information to relevant team members about patient's performance
  • Participates in program planning, continuous quality improvement and evaluation
  • Supervise activities of OTA/PTA students, volunteers and coop students as assigned
