Carpenter positions


This position is in Edmonton, AB and does not have camp accommodations, travel allowance, or living out allowance.

Shift is 5 days on 2 days off - chance to work overtime if needed

Responsibilities:


  • Be able to comprehend blueprint readings and prepare layouts
  • Understand industrial concrete forming, be able to build concrete forms, and other structures
  • Look for, and fix deficiencies
  • Checks accuracy of work, and makes adjustments as required
  • Studies blueprints for work planning
  • Constructs and forms chutes for pouring concrete
  • Erects scaffolding, and ladders for assembling structures above ground level
  • Informs immediate supervisor of abnormalities or defects and/or takes appropriate measures

Requirements:


  • Preference will be given to a Journeyman Carpenter Ticket from a recognized provincial training authority or be a Registered Carpenter Apprentice
  • Nonticketed carpenters must provide proof of hours relevant to the industrial Carpentry trade
  • Fall Protection and Confined Space is an asset
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and train apprentices
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Describe and point out safety compliance and regulatory issues
