Child and Youth Care Worker(s) - Family Based Care

(Full-time, Part-time and Casual/Relief Positions Available)


We are looking for innovative and creative Child and Youth Care Workers to provide care, supervision, and support to young people with complex needs and their families.

The work is varied and will include relationship building, planning, and participating in social and recreational activities including land-based activities, teaching life skills, providing educational supports, and developing and implementing individualized intervention plans.


The successful applicant(s) must be confident, energetic, adaptable, patient, self-aware, physically active, and able to safely intervene in crisis situations.

It is important to note that shift work, including weekends, is required._


Education & Experience:


  • Diploma/Degree in Child and Youth Care or a related discipline
  • Experience working with young people with intellectual and developmental difficulties (i.e. emotional dysregulation, behavior disorders, ADHD, FASD, autism, etc.)
  • A minimum of 1year related work experience
  • Ability to demonstrate experience of working with children with challenging behaviors in an effective and appropriate way
  • Have sound knowledge of Child Protection Procedures and clinical practices
  • Hold a valid Crisis Prevention and Intervention certification (CPI, TCI or UMAB)

Additional Requirements:


  • Clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from RNC/RCMP (Updated within the last 6 months)
  • Child Protection Clearance Check granting clearance (Updated within the last 6 months)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Drivers Abstract (Updated within the last 6 months)
  • Current and valid Standard First Aid/CPR certification
  • Valid Proof of Canadian Residency
  • Access to a personal vehicle and $2 Million Business Liability
  • Ability to provide proof of COVID Vaccinations (two doses)
