    Description

    Unifi, the largest aviation services provider in North America, is seeking to make immediate hires on our Baggage Duty Manager in YYC. The Baggage Duty Manager team will work closely with our Airline Partners, Duty Managers, fellow Supervisors, Crew Chiefs, and Agents to ensure our operational performance metrics are met. There is a strong emphasis on safety, operational excellence, MBR, guest experience, and employee engagement.

    Essential Functions

    • Lead a team who are responsible for:
    • Handling our airline partner's baggage with care.
    • Ensuring baggage is on the same aircraft as the guest.
    • Scanning each piece of baggage into a correct cart.
    • Delivery of baggage form the makeup units to the aircraft.
    • Monitors staffing and overtime use and operational and financial performance of assigned shift/station.
    • Coach and mentor employees, while enforcing Company policies and procedures.
    • Document agent conversations and performance.
    • Investigate and report missed baggage.
    • Develop strategies to improve KPI.
    • Collaborate with our airline partners on anything baggage related.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure Pre-Operational Inspections for all equipment used during the shift are completed.
    • Ensure safety compliance and that proper PPE is being utilized.
    • Review assigned ULDs, and complete widebody uplift requests as required.
    • Responsible for ensuring direction is provided with challenges impacting baggage, baggage scanning, NCB, AVI, USCBP recalls, CBSA recalls, Missed Baggage Ratio.
    • Participate in staff briefings with the bagroom teams at the start of every shift, outlining any challenges and opportunities.
    • Lead safety briefings and conduct risk assessments.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    • A minimum of one year of airline operations experience is preferred.
    • Experience in ground operations is an asset.
    • Recognize and action challenges that may arise promptly and efficiently.
    • Must hold or successfully receive a Restricted Area Pass and AVOP.
    • Must be able to communicate by radio, telephone, etc.
    • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
