The Role:

We are currently searching for a
Loss Prevention Investigator reporting to the Manager, Loss Prevention & Security. This is a
12 month, Full-Time Contract opportunity. The Loss Prevention Investigator is a key investigative resource in matters pertaining to internal and external security issues.

This role responds to security assistance requests, identifies and investigates potential areas of risk or loss, and provides recommendations to safeguard The Beer Store's employees, customers, and assets.


Location:

Our Corporate Office is located in Bolton, ON.

We offer Remote/Hybrid Flex work with visits into the office on an as-needed basis depending on the role and function.


What You'll Be Doing:


  • Assess site specific levels of risk, and provide recommendations to mitigate risk, through the use of site LP audits; process audits; and workplace risk assessments; Planning and mitigation for retail crime and violence is a top initiative for the role
  • Conduct internal investigations, including employee interviews, and provide reporting and recommendations to the Manager, Loss Prevention & Security, District Managers, Human Resources. Provide direction and support to Investigative analysts.
  • Make recommendations for improvements with respect to company policies and procedures
  • Prepare legal documents and statements for the Police and Courts in circumstances relating to criminal investigations
  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies, private security/investigation companies, security departments in similar retail organizations and security equipment suppliers to assess the adequacy of existing and the need for additional security and surveillance equipment.
  • Maintain databases on crime occurrences and respective losses and prepare statistical summaries together with risk analysis to assess securityrelated concerns
  • Assessing and data mining Shrink related opportunities to mitigate losses.
  • Other related duties and projects as assigned

Who You Are - Your Knowledge, Skills & Experience:


Education:


  • Post secondary Degree or Diploma is required
  • Willingness to obtain a Valid Security license required
  • It is essential to consistently update and stay current with any evolving legislation

Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years of field management experience
  • Previous inventory management experience required, and audit experience considered an asset

Skills:


  • Ability to manage, direct and counsel people during crisis situations
  • Working knowledge of legislation pertaining to criminal law and civil law
  • Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
  • The ability to acquire in depth knowledge of Company Policies, Guidelines, and Procedures for Corporate
  • Experience in a Retail and Logistics Operations within a union environment
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to organize an investigation, draw conclusions and make decisions based upon events and transactions that have taken place (i.e. forensic accounting)
  • Working knowledge of multiple CCTV platforms, intusion alarm systems and access control systems
  • Effective leadership and team building skills are essential
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Flexibility to travel within the province of Ontario with short notice is a requirement
  • On call as business needs arise, can include evenings and weekends.
