We are currently seeking a Labor and Employment Lawyer to join our Human Resources team. The position is based in our Ville St-Laurent head office.


Your Mandate at GardaWorld


You will be responsible for providing legal services to the Human Resources team as well as to GardaWorld's management across Canada in matters of labor and employment law.


You will operate across our three main divisions:
Security Services, Aviation and Cash Services.


Your main responsabilities

  • Interpret labour law and health & safety laws and regulations as well as collective agreements
  • Provide legal advice and opinions in labour law and occupational health and safety
  • Represent GardaWorld before various administrative and judicial authorities in matters of labor relations and occupational health and safety
  • Support consultants with respect to strategic alignments and occupational health and safety legislation and regulations
  • Conduct hearings, when required
  • Negotiate outofcourt settlements in contentious cases
  • Monitor best practices in your areas of expertise
  • Collaborate, as required, in the negotiation of local arrangements or other agreements
  • Maintain your knowledge in your specialty and keep abreast of new legislation, regulations and jurisprudence
  • Provide training within GardaWorld according to your field of expertise

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Laws
  • Member of the Quebec Bar
  • 2 to 3 years experience in the practice of law with a specialty in employment law
  • Experience in a unionized company (an asset)
  • Mastery of office tools (Microsoft Office)
  • Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written
  • Legal representation and negotiation skills
  • Sense of organization, planning and priorities
  • Leadership, decisionmaking and judgment skills
  • Customer orientation and persuasiveness
  • Concern for quality customer service
  • Ability to manage time, prioritize and work under pressure
  • Availability to travel occasionally within Canada
