Tartistes, an artisan manufacturer of pastry products and comfort foods, is seeking a hands-on knowledgeable Food Safety SQF Practitioner to run our SQF program.


We expect the Food Safety SQF Practitioner to be part of our management team, participating in management meetings, bringing Food Safety and Quality perspectives on business decisions, such as staffing, new product launch, production process etc.

Minimum of 1 year experience. We value ability over experience.

Wage range starts at $22, higher depending on experience and capabilities.

  • Monitors good manufacturing practices; performs inspections, calibrations and environmental, sanitation and pest control monitoring and verification, to ensure all food safety and quality procedures are followed
  • Checks and monitors conformance of production activities to standards, monitors and completes qualityrelated forms, and conducts line inspections;
  • Inspects the daytoday facility and processing operations, ensuring adherence to all company and regulatory standards, including but not limited to equipment inspection, preop and postop procedures
  • Provides SQF training, including GMP training and other quality and food safety training
  • Leads the nonconformance process, including root cause analysis and corrective action and preventative action reporting; troubleshoots production issues, implements corrective action and verifies completion;
  • Performs material, inprocess and finished product sampling and testing and oversees 3rdparty lab testing;
  • Conducts product shelflife analysis and monitors compliance to shelf life standards;
  • Maintains nutritional information database and updates product specifications, ensures compliance of any new materials to determined standards and analyses the effects of the introduction of new materials in the factory
  • Leads and organizes Health and Safety Meetings

Requirements:


  • Must have HACCP and be SQF Practitioner certified
  • Bachelor's in Food Science or equivalent
