The Ciena Lab Management Engineering team requires a Hardware Lab Rework Tech. to provide daily support for ongoing Fiber and Circuit pack rework requests.

The primary responsibility of the HW lab rework Tech role is to provide advanced Fiber & rework support to all HW design customers/teams.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepare, deploy and Maintain Fiber spool requirements for R&D teams
Splice and rework bare fiber spools to create Custom fiber lengths based on R&D requirements
Working with OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometer) to troubleshoot faults and measure insertion loss on Optical connections will be required. Experience with an OTDR would be an asset but training will be provided.
Ball Grid Array (BGA) mounting and rework
Operate and maintain BGA stations, stencils and profiles.
Install, Rework FPGA, ASICS devices on
Create custom profiles based on newest FPGA/ASIC form factors
Process Engineering changes on prototype and production hardware
Responsibilities include being able to handsolder components, remove and replace thruhole comp without board damage, solder wires and cables, Read/understand Engineering change documents and assembly documents.
Assembling/disassembling of circuit boards for rework.
Working knowledge of Allegro Board Layout Tool or similar software
