    The Department of Mental Health Nursing and Community Wellness invites applications for an entry‑level, full‑time, tenure‑track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing July 1 2026, subject to final budgetary approval.

    Faculty Background


    The Faculty of Nursing delivers excellent nursing education across four academic departments, offering a Bachelor of Psychiatric Nursing (BPN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN), Bridge to Canadian Nursing Certificate, and other post‑credential learning experiences. Courses focus on promoting health of diverse populations within psychiatric, mental health, and community nursing settings.

    Responsibilities

    • Teach undergraduate nursing students in lab and classroom settings.
    • Innovate and develop curriculum across the Faculty of Nursing.
    • Maintain an ongoing program of research and prepare a teaching dossier (including recent evaluations) when invited to interview.

    Qualifications

    • Terminal degree (Master's required, PhD preferred) in a nursing‑related field with experience in mental health and/or psychiatric nursing.
    • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate teaching excellence.
    • Curriculum development experience and passion for educational innovation.
    • Unencumbered licensure with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA) and/or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Alberta (CRPNA); meets requisite skills and abilities of applicable profession(s).
