About the Opportunity:
- We are looking for Rehabilitation Assistant to join our Early Intervention Program in Therapy Services.
- The Early Intervention Program provides physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy and social work support for over 1000 children and their families. Services are provided in the child's natural environments, as well as through clinic and group opportunities, and focus on helping the child become successful in their daily routines and participation in home and community life.
A Day in the Life of a BC CFA Rehabilitation Assistant:
- Work with designated OT/PT/SLPs to carry out established intervention plans
- Provide 1:1 client sessions under the direction of PT/OT/SLP
- Lead child and family group sessions developed in collaboration with OT/PT/SLP
- Assist in the modification of PT/OT/SLP intervention plans
- Report observation of client's progress to supervising therapist
- Maintain up to date client records
- Responsible for the maintenance of the equipment library, including safety and quality of items
- Oversee OT/PT/SLP store containing items sold to families including feeding utensils, splints, orthotics
- Assist OT and PT with splinting and casting, including setting up for gait analysis
- Maintain splinting and casting room
- Organize programbased invoices for equipment and supplies
The Qualifications and Skills You Bring:
Education, Training and Experience:
- Diploma from a recognized Rehabilitation Assistant Program
- Experience working in pediatrics is preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven collaboration, communication and consultation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proven organization and time management skills are required
- Ability to adapt to change and embrace new technology
- Competency using a virtual platform, electronic client record system and word processing software
Working Conditions & Provisos:
- Valid BC Driver's license with reliable use of car for work with business insurance
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
