Education:
Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years

Work site environment:
Outdoors, Hot, Cold

Work setting:
Various locations, Willing to relocate. Job sites may include Saskatoon, Regina, Moose Jaw, and North Battleford.


Own tools/equipment:
Steel-toed safety boots


Type of industry experience:
Industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) construction, Large diameter pipeline construction - watermain, sewer, Residential construction, Road construction

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses:
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate, Ground Disturbance - Level 2 program

Types of heavy equipment operated:
Backhoe excavator, loader, Bulldozer, large or small, Grader


Area of specialization:
Cold regions


Area of work experience:
Backfilling, Ditching, Excavation, Rough grading, Sloping and banking, Stripping, Sub-grade excavator, Trenching

Screening questions:

Do you have previous experience in this field of employment? Do you have the above-indicated required certifications? What is the highest level of study you have completed?

Tasks:
Operate heavy equipment, Clean and lubricate equipment and refill equipment tanks, Operate computer controlled equipment, Complete onboard and other logs, Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, Prepare accident reports, Secure special attachments to equipment, Operator GPD (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment, Operate two-way radios and other communication equipment, Operator hydraulic pumping systems

Security and safety:
Driving record check (abstract), Drug & alcohol test may be required

Transportation/travel information:
Own transportation, Own vehicle, Willing to travel, Willing to travel regularly, Valid driver's licence, Public transportation is not available

Work conditions and physical capabilities:
Physically demanding, Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Overtime required
