Description

We are looking for Line Cooks at the Radisson Hotel Sudbury.
The Line Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary and consistent manner.

Must be prepared to work in a fast-paced, high pressure work environment, while maintaining the organizational ability to identify and act on job duties quickly and effectively.


Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensure Radisson hotel's core standards and service standards are maintained and followed at all times;
Serve menu items in compliance with established standards

Adhere to cost control guidelines

Set up work stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu items for service

Prepare a variety of foods:
beef, pork, poultry, seafood, vegetable, pastas, sauces and garnishes

Notify inventory levels to avoid shortages

Use food preparation tools in accordance with manufacturer's instructions

Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times

Make sure all storage areas are clean and all products are identified and stored properly

Consistent use of safe and hygienic food handling practices

Other related duties as required and or assigned.


Education & Qualifications:

High School diploma or GED equivalent

Professional diploma or food services management preferred

Minimum 1 year of cooking experience required

Knowledge of basic sanitary guidelines and W.H.I.M.I.S guidelines

Food Handlers certificate

Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos in English

Must be Covid-19 vaccinated

Must be legally able to work in Canada

Working Conditions:

Lifting - Under 50lbs, Carrying - Over 20lbs, excessive standing


The work environment is a hotel setting, which has the following conditions: low-medium noise environment; high traffic area for internal and external guests; exposure to moving parts and equipment within a kitchen setting; potential exposure to wet and slippery floors; exposure to chemicals; frequently working in areas of high temperatures around heavy equipment; exposure to sharps and bio-hazards.

Stand, walk and remain on feet and perform job duties for entire shift duration.

Full-time, Part-time


Salary:
$15.50 per hour
