SAIT'sSchool of Manufacturing, Automation & Transportation provides the skills-based training and development to prepare students for a career in Alberta's rapidly growing oil and gas, transportation, manufacturing and automation sectors. The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting a temporary Full-Time Instructor for our Welding Apprentice and full-time Programs. The focus for this position will be primarily a laboratory & Theory Instructor.

The Role:
- Present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners as per the applicable course outline
- Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
- Evaluate student progress and achievement
- Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
- Develop course outlines, profiles, and curriculum
- Participate in curriculum and program reviews
- Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
- Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
- Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum Journeyperson Welder Certificate, with B-Pressure Certificate preferred
- Teaching experience are considered assets, curriculum development and design experience are considered assets
Skills and Knowledge:
- Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others, with a willingness to spend quality time to help students succeed
- Ability to organize course concepts and materials to create an optimal learning environment
- Possess a positive respectful attitude and desire to support team members and the Academic Chair with program improvements
- Ability to adapt to situations such as unexpected workloads
- Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
