School of Manufacturing, Automation & Transportation provides the skills-based training and development to prepare students for a career in Alberta's rapidly growing oil and gas, transportation, manufacturing and automation sectors. The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting a temporary Full-Time Instructor for our Welding Apprentice and full-time Programs. The focus for this position will be primarily a laboratory & Theory Instructor.

The Role:

Present lessons, lectures, assignments, quizzes, lab activities and lab demonstrations for learners as per the applicable course outline
Prepare additional study and lab materials for learners
Evaluate student progress and achievement
Provide ongoing support, guidance and advice to learners
Develop course outlines, profiles, and curriculum
Participate in curriculum and program reviews
Adhere to all safety legislation, guidelines and safety standards as required
Maintain close contact with relevant industry sectors
Perform related duties as assigned to meet the emerging needs of SAIT and its students

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum Journeyperson Welder Certificate, with B-Pressure Certificate preferred
Teaching experience are considered assets, curriculum development and design experience are considered assets

Skills and Knowledge:

Aptitude for mentoring and coaching others, with a willingness to spend quality time to help students succeed
Ability to organize course concepts and materials to create an optimal learning environment
Possess a positive respectful attitude and desire to support team members and the Academic Chair with program improvements
Ability to adapt to situations such as unexpected workloads
Intermediate level proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, and Outlook
