JOB SUMMARY:

The RCFS Marketing and Communications Unit is responsible for developing and implementing marketing and communications programs and services to support the operations of the Recreation, Cultural and Facility Services Department, including multi-media, public education, social marketing and promotional campaigns to inform the public and effectively reach target audiences through appropriate communications channels.

You are responsible for designing and producing finished artwork such as communication publications, flyers, facts sheets, brochures, posters, newsletters, displays, digital ads, videos, and other elements that would require extensive graphic design and layouts for the public.

You also assist with the production and dissemination of other marketing and communication materials related to RCFS.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of 3 year community college diploma in Graphics Design or related field

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of graphic design and publication communications documents

KNOWLEDGE:

Knowledge of layout and design of marketing and communications materials
Superior grasp of industry standard hardware and software including operation of the Macintosh computer and general knowledge of the Macintosh operating system
Knowledge of graphic design software from the Adobe Creative Suite such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, After Effects, Premier Pro, Animate and Acrobat as well as Microsoft Office Suite
Working knowledge of internet and ecommunications tools and methodologies
Advanced knowledge of layout and design of marketing and communication materials
Advanced understand the basics of design and layout including balance, symmetry, colour, style and paper selection
General knowledge of web design

Competency in Microsoft Office products including PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook
