The Peel District School Board (PDSB) is a racially, culturally and linguistically diverse board that serves 155,000+ students and approximately 17,000 employees.

The workforce consists of teachers, office staff, custodial staff, education assistants and professional staff. The workforce is largely unionized through PDSB's numerous affiliated bargaining agents. _Casual Educational Assistant
Educational Assistants provide support to students with a variety of special needs including physical, developmental and behavioural.
Educational Assistants work with children with special needs in a classroom setting, either in an integrated mainstream classroom or in a contained classroom.
Educational Assistants work during the school year only.There will be school shut down periods in December (winter break), March Break and during the summer months when Educational Assistants do not work and are not paid.
***The Board shall undertake to hire Employees with appropriate post-secondary education and directly related experience

- Early Childhood Education (with special needs experience)
- Intervenor for Deaf-Blind Persons
- Post-ECE Advanced Studies in Special Needs
- Bachelor of Arts
- Child and Youth Care
- Bachelor of Arts
- Psychology
- Bachelor of Arts
- Sociology
- Bachelor of Arts
- Exceptionality in Human Learning
- Bachelor of Social Work
- Registered Nurse
- Registered Practical Nurse
- Social Service Worker (Gerontology and Immigrants and Refugees specializations not applicable)
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification with minimum Additional Qualification (AQ) in Spec. Ed. Part 1
