We are currently looking to add a hardworking, enthusiastic Site Assistant Superintendent with a strong commitment to safety, to our team.

The Site Assistant Superintendent is responsible for assisting with planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating construction activities through collaboration with the project team to ensure overall construction activities are within an established design, budget and within scheduling guidelines.


Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring construction site preparation by assisting with organizing site laydowns and ordering materials, as required.
  • Assisting with planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones by monitoring progress against established schedules.
  • Supporting contractual agreements with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors by assisting with contract preparations, negotiations, revisions, and modifications.
  • Supporting project budget by preparing and submitting cost estimates for suppliers, material, labour, and other related costs.
  • Ensuring targeted profits by assisting with the management of cost controls of workforce, equipment, materials, and trade contractors.
  • Maintaining quality control by assisting with the development, implementation and monitoring Quality Control programs.
  • Ensuring jurisdictional regulations are maintained by assisting with the work inspections of crew.
  • Supporting project schedules by identifying and mitigating risks and preparing progress summary reports for the Project Director.
  • Resolving conflicts by assisting with identifying, addressing, and resolving issues and problems as or before they occur.
  • Ensuring productivity and safety measures by maintaining a daily log of construction site operations and identifying any gaps or areas that need to be addressed.
  • Completing operational requirements by assigning tasks to direct reports and following up on work results.
  • Assisting with human resources initiatives and activities for direct reports including coaching, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee development, employee recognition and general support.
  • Enhancing productivity by providing suggestions to refine workflow and boost efficiency.
  • Preparing and maintaining the Health & Safety on construction sites by; maintaining awareness of surroundings, observing stipulated safety codes at all times, conducting employee orientations and safety meetings and escalating injuries and other accidents to the HSE Officer.
  • Supporting administration by completing required paperwork, and other documentation as required.

Knowledge & Skills Requirements

Include but are not limited to:

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of commercial and/or institutional construction experience as a Superintendent is required.
  • High School Diploma/GED is required. Completion of postsecondary studies in construction, building technology, engineering or a similar field is preferred.
  • National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) Certification and Journeyman Carpenter ticket is preferred.
  • Required tickets include; First Aid Level C. Zoom boom, skid steer, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platforms, and other valid tickets are an asset.
  • Indepth understanding of construction principles, procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines.
  • Previous commercial and/or institutional construction experience.
  • Experience managing projects in excess of $15 million is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to read technical documents and drawings is required.
  • Demonstrated desire to be a lifelong learner.
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills, including oral, written and presentation abilities, as well as networking and relationship building skills.
  • Must be highly organized with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
  • Strong "team" orientation, with demonstrated group process skills; this includes participation in high level planning and group involvement processes.
  • A strong service orientation, with a focus on making Aman Builders a respected and reputable construction company.
  • Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Projects.
  • Must have a valid and clean Driver's license and be willing to trave
