Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and symptom evaluations, while identifying potential research opportunities.
- Diagnose and treat various acute and chronic illnesses under the supervision of a licensed physician, while considering research implications.
- Develop comprehensive treatment plans based on patient assessments, medical guidelines, and research findings.
- Perform or assist in medical procedures, including wound care, suturing, casting, and injections, while documenting research data when applicable.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as laboratory tests and imaging studies, while utilizing research methodologies to enhance data collection.
- Provide patient education regarding medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures, while incorporating researchbased information.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care, while actively engaging in interdisciplinary research collaborations.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate patient records in accordance with medical and legal requirements, while documenting researchrelated information as appropriate.
- Stay informed about advancements in medical knowledge, techniques, and technologies through continuing education and professional development activities, with a particular focus on research updates.
- Actively participate in research initiatives, including study design, data collection, analysis, and publication, in collaboration with the research team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant.
- Valid license to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of medical principles and practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and privacy.
- Demonstrated interest and experience in research, including knowledge of research methodologies and data analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working as a Physician Assistant in a similar clinical setting with research involvement.
- Certification in Orthopaedics.
- Research experience or training in any medical specialty.
Salary:
$19.08-$50.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:
- Halifax, NS B3H 3A7: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- EMR: 1 year (preferred)
