The Manager, Translation Service will work under the leadership of the AVP, Corporate Services.
The person holding the position provides overall management and direction to the department, by making sure that service objectives are met in accordance with budget and expenses management, seeking to offer all our clients an excellent service that meets their needs.
In collaboration with the Montreal Translation Service leadership team, they will manage the workflow and the quality of the work, analyze performance statistics, develop methods and procedures, coordinate system development, while making sure to maintain a balance between meeting the company's business objectives, the language standards and the requirements of the Quebec Office of the French Language.
They will also be involved in special projects and support effectively the company's marketing efforts towards the French-speaking markets, and ensure constant and open communications with internal and external contacts regarding business activities.
Profile:
- Have an undergraduate degree in translation, administration or management
- Have a minimum of seven years experience in a leadership role in translation services
- Be a Certified Translator, member of OTTIAQ (an asset)
- Be fluent in spoken and written English and French
- Have advanced communication skills, and be a positive and engaging change agent
- Have good negotiation skills and the ability to influence
- Be able to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
- Demonstrate people management skills (recruitment, skills assessment and development, coaching)
- Show partnership and collaboration with various partners, within the department as well as with other teams elsewhere in the company
- Have an acute sense of leadership by placing the team at the centre of the company's success
- Have an excellent command of computer tools and translation software (FlowFit and Trados Studio)
- Having completed a leadership program is a strong asset
