CASA Mental Health is an established non-profit organization delivering holistic, culturally-safe wrap-around mental health services to Albertans and their families.

CASA provides mental health service to the missing middle - mental health treatment for diagnosed children and youth, in between prevention and promotion in primary and community care, and acute treatment in hospital.

CASA's team of mental health professionals are trauma experts committed to delivering service in collaboration with community partners.

This includes assessment and treatment for up to 4,000 children, youth and their families each year, from community outreach settings to intensive treatment programs.


About the Role


Reporting to the Senior Manager, Clinical Operations, the Clinical Supervisor of Psychology provides mentorship and supervision to provisional psychologists adhering to the standards of supervision practice and the code of ethics.

They will also complete the appropriate documentation to support the supervisees' registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).

The Clinical Supervisor - Psychology may also work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary team members to ensure success in the area of clinical service delivery as needed.


The Clinical Supervisor will:


  • Provide direct supervision of provisional psychologists or occupational therapists to assist them in gaining supervised hours with CAP.
  • Inform and train staff on CASA policy and practice regarding admission, discharge, data collection and clinical documentation related to assigned discipline.
  • Ensure a holistic and highquality model of assessment and treatment planning that is familycentered, traumainformed and inclusive of biological, psychological, social and cultural factors for patients and their families.
  • Support the delivery of highquality clinical services by providing competency assessment, coaching, mentoring and clinical supervision to members of the assigned discipline.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to support the patient in achieving therapeutic goals, utilizing a variety of developmentallyappropriate treatment approaches.
  • Be an active, contributing member of a multidisciplinary clinical team whose purpose is assessment, treatment, case review and consultation.
  • Follow organizational policy and practice regarding admission, discharge and maintenance of health records.

Qualifications

  • Graduate degree with in psychology.
  • Status as an approved supervisor in good standing is required.
  • Five or more years of experience delivering child and/or adolescent mental health service is required.
  • Knowledge and experience supporting the healing of children and youth who have experienced trauma.
  • Knowledge and experience in therapeutic modalities for treating children and youth
  • Experience supporting the mental health of children and youth who identify as LGBTQ2S+.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records or similar information systems is an asset.
  • Mental Health First Aid or Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is required.
  • Current First Aid and BLS-HCP (Basic Life Support
  • Healthcare Provider) certification is an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle is required.
